Charge Those Hills

While running some hills recently, I felt tired. That doesn’t usually happen. Whether it was the warmer temperatures or I’d been pushing myself too hard, the fatigue was there.

I responded by easing up for a half mile or so, and then started pushing again. It worked.

Life is exactly like this. The earth does it. People, animals, and businesses do it as well.

We go through cycles. Earth = the seasons; Farms = fields lie fallow; People = goals, holiday seasons; Animals = hibernation; Businesses = sales campaigns and initiatives.

We all need to pause occasionally, to restock, reset or regenerate so we’re prepared for the next push.

Leaders especially need to learn to do this for themselves and to teach future leaders how to as well.

Don’t be afraid to push, but allow yourself time to recover.
